About:

Zerkxis has joined the department’s PhD program as of 2024. He is an ordained Zoroastrian priest (nāvar-2006 martab-2007) and holds a BA (2018) from UCSB in Religious Studies and a MA (2022) in Religious Studies from CSU Long Beach.

He has served as the ambassador for Western North America in the GenZ and Beyond Survey conducted by SOAS at the University of London. Additionally, he served as a key contributor to FEZANA’s Global Glossaries project. His academic interests include: rituals, oral traditions, enchantment/disenchantment, decolonization methodology, indigenous knowledge and identity, as well as the construct of modernity.
